James Shaw is a six generation Texan, born in Refugio, Texas in September of 1966. Shaw resides in San Antonio, Texas and frequently visits Rockport, Texas. Shaw is the son of Dr. J. Martin Shaw and Jackie Shaw of Rockport, Texas.
After graduating from Rockport Fulton High he enrolled Saint Mary’s University. Shaw studied Business Finance and Marketing and received a BBA in Finance in 1989. Shaw became a member of Kappa Sigma in 1986. In 1989, Shaw began the study of law at the University of Loyola and graduated from the University Of Loyola School Of Law in 1992.
In November of 1992 Shaw founded the Carabin & Shaw Law Firm under the belief that the firm would represent individuals that needed a voice. A Firm that will stand up against powerful insurance companies.
Through Shaw’s guidance, leadership and vision, the Carabin Shaw Law Firm has founded multiple locations throughout Texas, including Laredo, Corpus Christi, Victoria, Rockport, Beeville, Kenedy and Austin.
James Shaw and his wife, Anna, proudly support the Angel Tree Foundation, San Antonio Food Bank, Saint Antony De Padua Catholic Church and the Boys and Girls Club of San Antonio.
Shaw founded the Law Firm of Carabin & Shaw P.C. in 1992. Attorney James Shaw is a member of the State Bar of Texas, the National Trial Lawyers Association, the Association of Trial Lawyers of America; the American Association for Justice and Shaw is considered a Fellowship Member of the Texas Trial Lawyers Association.
Attorney Shaw has served as the managing attorney for the Carabin Shaw Law Firm since 1992.
Shaw is the founder and past President of the ACYP (Aransas County Youth Project) from 2001 – 2006. This organization was formed to assist graduates of the Rockport-Fulton High School with continuing their education in colleges or trade schools.
Shaw has individually participated and required all Carabin Shaw Attorneys to participate in an Annual Pro Bono Effort thru the San Antonio Bar Association’s “Just Take One Program” for 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2012 and 2013.
The San Antonio Bar Association “Just Take One Program” assists individuals and families of San Antonio and South Texas with free legal assistance for the poor and/or disabled.
Shaw is a current member of Saint Anthony de Padua of San Antonio and Shaw is a former member of Sacred Heart Church of Rockport and a former member of the Corpus Christi Diocese Bishop’s Guild.
Shaw concentrates his legal practice on auto accidents, trucking accidents, motorcycle accidents, wrongful death cases and personal injury cases.
